Artist and designer, Phoebe R (b.1987) graduated from University for the Creative Arts, Epsom UK in 2009 and immigrated to Hong Kong in 2016. 

Her work captures moments in the city, meticulous and detailed, transforming a fleeting glance in to a permanent archive; every day sights we might often take for granted.

An outsider settled on Dai Wong Dong Gai and felt the tremor of the land and her incus as drills cut through rock for 1000 days, enmeshing her. Arriving before, during and after change, she swayed with the trees, fell with the rain and rose with the energy of the people. 2023 permanent residency. An outsider now inside, 7 years alive amongst the coarseness of Hong Kong which still astounds her. The natural beauty amidst the alluring pastel human settlements. The landscapes change with the sudden assembly of strong bamboo. Temporary, raw. We’ve come so far. Where are we now?
